7 oranges/1$
I've never imagined that a simple sign with those words could bring such chaos. Well, considering I usually shop at a Sobey's, Loblaws.. a non-Chinese store, it was chaotic. There's something with Chinese people and oranges. Did you ever notice that? If there's one fruit I ate more than any other growing up, they were oranges. Remember the times where you would go with your parents to their friend's place and they'll bring two bags of oranges. Then the friends would be saying something like "OH, you shouldn't have" while they're probably thinking "SWEET, ORANGES... good thing they bought some, they're not on sale this week". Anyways, crazy things happen when oranges are on sale. So back to the Chinese grocery store, the workers were bringing out new cases of oranges and before he could even dump them onto the pile, people would be grabbing the oranges. Some people would not take away their hands and the oranges would just fall on them. There was this one guy who just took an entire case!! I managed to get a bag of 13 oranges... 1 short.
Did you know that oranges is ancient cultivated hybrid of the pomelo and tangerine?
Did you know that there are actually two main types of oranges: Sweet and Bitter!!
Fact: The sweet orange was INTRODUCED to Florida in 1513!!
Never try rhyming with the word orange... there's no word that rhymes with it.
